It is about reclaiming the word 'woke' from the nay-sayers and being proudly principled in how we choose to garden and grow plants. The use of peat in the majority of professional plant growing businesses is still HUGE. Along with pesticides, synthetic fertilisers, genetic modification, reduction of seed variety, loss of biodiversity, racialised plant names, sexist and racist attitudes and power structures... there's plenty to get woke about.
